Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat returns to Australia for the first time in 30 years, with Melbourne and now Sydney seasons being announced, alongside incredible new cast additions. Keep reading to find out all about the new season announcement, cast members and more!
Joseph In Melbourne & Sydney
Direct from the critically acclaimed London Palladium, the dazzling and joyous new production of the world-renowned musical begins its Australian takeover at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in November 2022. The tour then takes on Sydney in February 2023 at the Capitol Theatre.
Written in 1968 and based on the Bible’s book of Genesis, Joseph tells the story of Jacob’s favourite son Joseph and his eleven brothers. The beloved multi-award winning musical features the hits we all know and love, including UK #1 “Any Dream Will Do”, “Go, Go, Go Joseph”, “Close Every Door” and more.
Sydney Casting
The cast line-up for Sydney is one not to be missed!
Euan Fistrovic Doidge, best known for his starring roles as Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever, Felicia in Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Marius in Les Misérables, will be playing Joseph, alongside Fijian born songstress Paulini.
Rising to fame through season one of Australian Idol, ARIA Number 1 chart award winner Paulini has worked across theatre (Saturday Night Fever, The Bodyguard, Hair), TV (The Masked Singer, I’m A Celebrity Get Me out of Here) and in the music industry, boasting the Platinum album ‘One Determined Heart’ and Platinum smash single ‘Angel Eyes’. Pauilini will be stepping into the infamous shoes of The Narrator in Sydney’s Joseph.
This production is directed by Laurence Connor (Phantom of the Opera, School of Rock), choreographed by JoAnn M. Hunter (School of Rock, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella), with music supervision by John Rigby. The creative team includes Set & Costume Design by Morgan Large, Lighting Design by Ben Cracknell, Sound Design by Gareth Owen and Hair, Wigs and Makeup Design by Richard Mawbey.
