The nominations for the 79th Annual Tony Awards are officially in. Announced today by Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss, CATS: The Jellicle Ball has earned nine nominations, marking a major milestone for the boundary-pushing Broadway production.

Since opening at the Broadhurst Theatre in April, the reimagined take on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS - inspired by New York’s ballroom culture has taken Broadway by storm. The production has already attracted widespread critical acclaim, alongside recognition from the 2026 Outer Critics Circle Awards and Drama League Awards. The 79th Annual Tony Awards will take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on 7 June Sunday.
