Ashley Banjo and Jason Manford will star in The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium this summer. Ashley, who will play the Tin Man, announced the news on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show this morning. Banjo is the founder, creative director and choreographer for the dance group Diversity who found fame in 2009 after winning Britain’s Got Talent.
Alongside Banjo, Jason Manford will take up the role of the Cowardly Lion. Manford is a multi-award-winning stand-up comedian, actor, singer, writer, radio and television presenter, well known for his live touring stand up work. He is from a musical family and has starred in Sweeney Todd and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The Wizard of Oz heads to the Palladium on Friday 23 June. Featuring the iconic original score from the Oscar-winning MGM film, including Over The Rainbow, Follow The Yellow Brick Road and We're Off To See the Wizard - with additional songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice - this spectacular production will be a magical experience for all the family.
