Adam Lambert and Andrew Lloyd Webber will unveil a new studio recording of “Heaven on Their Minds,” the iconic number that opens the musical, Jesus Christ Superstar. The release of the single will coincide with the opening of a three-night production at the Hollywood Bowl from Friday 1st August that stars Lambert as Judas Iscariot.

Adam Lambert commented:

“I was thrilled when Andrew asked me if I wanted to record a studio version of ‘Heaven on Their Minds’,”
“This is a great way to commemorate my upcoming appearance as Judas and to give fans all around the world a little taste of what will happen onstage at the Hollywood Bowl.”

Since being first released in 1970, ‘Heaven on Their Minds’ - the opening number of Jesus Christ Superstar - has enjoyed a colourful life and has been covered by a variety of artists from Sam Taylor Junior and Australian comedian/writer/artist Tim Minchin. It was even sampled by a young Marshal Mathers in an early recording prior to him becoming globally known as Eminem.

2025 has seen a renaissance for a variety of Andrew Lloyd Webber songs - from Nicole Scherzinger's powerful rendition of ‘As If We Never Said Goodbye’ to Rachel Zegler’s beautiful interpretation of ‘Don't Cry For Me Argentina’ - which hit #1 spot in the UK vinyls chart in July. Scottish electronic artist and long time Charli XCX collaborator Hudson Mohawke even collaborated with Andrew on a new interpretation of 'The Race' from Starlight Express.

This new recording has been produced by Martin Terefe, who’s worked with globally recognised artists including Yungblud, Shawn Mendes, Christina Aguilera and Robbie Williams to name a few.
