Founded in 1977, The Really Useful Group (RUG) exists to represent, manage, and license the work of the most commercially successful composer of all time, Andrew Lloyd Webber. We oversee the portfolio of brands (Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Starlight Express etc.) under Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals and collaborate with best-in-class partners to extend them into traditional and non- traditional entertainment mediums.

The Really Useful Group is expanding its range of business activities and IP exploitations, delivering franchise plans for key Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals. These franchise plans include new category exploration across the Entertainment industry from location-based experiences to consumer products to new publishing formatsto digital projects and more.

The Senior Brand Manager will be responsible for overseeing the projects across these new categories as well as supporting the Director of Marketing in the franchise management of the core ALW shows. They will work hand in hand with the Director of Marketing to deliver against the relevant objectives in the franchise plans. Brand & Franchise Management encompasses brand and franchise vision and strategy, creative strategy and direction, brand management and communications.

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a brand guardian across ALW and RUG brands and franchises across Film/TV, Themed Entertainment, Consumer Products, Music and Publishing including creative and campaign development to approvals.
  • Key marketing contact across all new category projects for Andrew Lloyd Webber and Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals. 
  • Initiate and develop brand marketing strategies and campaigns to deliver against the relevant franchise plans. 
  • Oversee the development of brand handbooks and key brand assets, working closely with the Head of Marketing and Brand & Content Asset Manager. 
  • Provide project leadership in line with the global franchise plans, ensuring consistency across creative and brand development, across all aspects of campaigns and materials. 
  • Support Business Development/Commercial team with relevant pitch deck, materials and more to acquire and secure new partners and deals. 
  • Development of digital community across the launch and roll out of the ALW Fan Club, websites and social media channels. 
  • Line manage the Content and Brand Asset Manager, overseeing the digitisation of the ALW archive, the filing and upkeep of all digital assets and supports on the integration of archive content into content calendars and marketing campaigns. 
  • Line manage the Social Media Assistant supporting them across the management of ALW Musicals show channels and ALW channels. Ensuring content plans support the overall franchise objectives. 
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships and supporting the commercial team with driving new partnerships.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • 5+ years in a marketing or branding role 
  • Experience developing global brands and/or managing a multi-faceted entertainment franchise 
  • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal 
  • Able to work across multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise accordingly to deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Innovative and highly motivated
