The winning Dorothy to release charity single

OVER THE RAINBOW CHARITY SINGLE

available to download Sunday 23rd May
or purchase Monday 31st May

Proceeds split between Prostate UK and The BBC Performing Arts Fund

After eight weeks of nail-biting tension Andrew Lloyd Webber’s epic quest to find his modern day Dorothy to fill those ruby-red slippers is about to reach its conclusion. On Saturday 22nd May, the nation will choose its winner who will go on to release a cover of the iconic ‘Over The Rainbow’ as first sung by Judy Garland over 60 years ago.

The charity single will be available to download from midnight Sunday 23rd May and all proceeds will be split equally between two very worthwhile charities: Prostate UK and The BBC Performing Arts Fund.

One week later (on Monday May 31st) the track will be physically available complete with The Wizard of Oz Medley, as performed by all three finalists, as a bonus B-side. The medley will consist of some of the classic tracks sung throughout the competition by the Dorothys including: ‘Follow The Yellow Brick Road’, ‘We’re Off To See The Wizard’, ‘It Really Was No Miracle’, ‘Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead’, ‘The Merry Old Land Of Oz’ and ‘If I Only Had A Heart’.

The three remaining Dorothys have just one more live show to prove to the nation that they have the power, charisma and talent to win one of the most prized and best-loved roles in musical theatre. The three finalists will go head to head in Saturday night’s grand final, singing a range of songs including their favourites from the series, as well as performing an exclusive group performance with the eight Dorothys who weren’t lucky enough to make it this far.

Viewers will also find out which lucky pooch will be performing in a one-off gala performance as Toto.

The Artist and Producers have waived their royalties and The Really Useful Group Ltd and Polydor Ltd will pay their profits* from this single to Prostate UK and The BBC Performing Arts Fund in equal shares.

*Profits means income net only of expenses approved by Prostate UK and the BBC Performing Arts Fund respectively. Each of Prostate UK and the BBC Performing Arts Fund will receive a guaranteed payment of at least 20p per unit / 7.5p per download from the sale of this single. Prostate UK is a charity registered with the Charity Commission no. 1135297. The BBC Performing Arts Fund is a charity registered with the Charity Commission no. 1101276
