Aspects of Love opens
Aspects of Love premiered at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London on 17th April 1989, where it ran for 1,325 performances before closing on 20th June 1992.
Based on the novel by David Garnett, the musical production of Aspects of Love featured music by Andrew with lyrics by Don Black and Charles Hart. The score for the show includes ‘Love Changes Everything,’ the single version of which was a huge hit for Michael Ball, who also starred in the original London production as Alex Dillingham.
Aspects of Love tells the story of passion, love, life and loss across three generations of a family and their artistic companions, against a background of 1940’s France and Italy.
The original London production also starred Ann Crumb as Rose Vibert and Kevin Colson as George Dillingham. The Financial Times’ reviewer Michael Coveney called the show “a remarkably daring piece of work.”
