Royal Variety Performance broadcast

On Thursday 16th December BBC1 broadcasts the 82nd Royal Variety Performance.

The Royal Variety Performance, which was recorded last week at The London Palladium, brings together artists from the worlds of music, comedy and theatre to perform in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. The world-famous London Palladium, which celebrates its own centenary this month, is hosting The Royal Variety Performance for the 37th time.

The event will be hosted by comedian Michael McIntyre, and features performances from international stars including Kylie Minogue, Take That and Russell Watson.

Joining them on the stage where next spring she will make her West End debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of The Wizard of Oz, is Danielle Hope, the winner of this year’s BBC1 talent show Over The Rainbow.

Danielle will be introduced by Michael Crawford – who will play The Wizard in next year’s production – before performing Dorothy’s classic song ‘Over The Rainbow’ for assembled royalty, stars and guests. Also performing will be 58 children from the Carmel Thomas Youth Singers, who will sing a medley from  The Wizard of Oz.

Watch The Royal Variety performance on BBC1 tomorrow, Thursday 16th December, from 8pm.
