Love Never Dies receives 10 Helpmann Award nominations
The Australian production of Love Never Dies, currently playing at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne, yesterday received an incredible 10 Helpmann Awards nominations including Best Musical.
The annual Helpmann Awards, now in their tenth year and named in honour of Sir Robert Helpmann, were established in 2001 by Live Performance Australia (LPA) to recognise, celebrate and promote Australia’s live performance industry.
The Australian production of Love Never Dies has received the following nominations:
Best Male Actor in a Musical – Ben Lewis
Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical – Simon Gleeson
Best Musical – Love Never Dies
Best Costume Design – Gabriela Tylesova
Best Scenic Design – Gabriela Tylesova
Best Lighting Design – Nick Schlieper
Best Sound Design – Mick Potter
Best Music Direction – Guy Simpson
Best Choreography in a Musical – Graeme Murphy
Best Direction of a Musical – Simon Phillips
The winners will be announced at a live awards ceremony, held at Opera Theatre, Sydney Opera House, on Monday 1 August. Love Never Dies‘ Best Male Actor in a Musical nominee Ben Lewis will perform at the ceremony.
Tickets for the Helpmann Awards can be purchased from the Sydney Opera House and the show will be broadcast live in Australia on channel 132, with coverage beginning at 7.30pm.
