BBC Radio 1s Dave and Dom big Eurovision break?

Comedy Dave and Dominic Byrne from BBC Radio 1′s Breakfast Show visited Andrew Lloyd Webber at his London offices, in a bid to be considered as the UKs 2009 Eurovision entry.

Following a televised address in which Andrew Lloyd Webber launched _Your Country Needs You_, the BBC show that will find the UK’s next Eurovision entry, Dave and Dom and their band Folk Face immediately contacted Andrew to ask if they could enter as an act.

On Friday their wish came true when they auditioned for Andrew with a song written especially for the occasion.

Under the rules of the competition Andrew and his expert team of music industry professionals will have the ability to mix up the acts and change their names in a bid to create the perfect entry. Andrew asked Folk Face if they would consider splitting if he felt one of the group was greater than the other or would work better with someone else in the competition. Dave and Dom replied a resounding yes, perhaps marking the end of Folk Face.

For more information on how to enter contact the official BBC Eurovision Song Contest website at www.bbc.co.uk/eurovisionl. The deadline for entries is 21st November 2008.
