Backstage with Connie Fisher

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of The Sound of Music starring Connie Fisher officially begans its UK tour in Cardiff today. Andrew has been in Cardiff to work with the company and attended the press night, before paying a visit backstage to see Connie and co-stars Margaret Preece and Michael Praed.

It’s a return to home territory for Connie, who won the role of Maria in the BBC 1 hit series How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? Connie played the role at the London Palladium for 15 months to huge critical acclaim and says she is delighted to play Maria again, “I have missed her immensely, I hadn’t realised just how much!”
