Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Surprise for Simon Cowell

Andrew Lloyd Webber surprised Simon Cowell with a Special Recognition Award at last night’s National Television Awards.

Andrew presented the award to Simon in front of a 5,000-strong audience at London’s Royal Albert Hall while many millions of viewers watched at home.

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “We are here to celebrate somebody who in my view has changed the course of television as we know it. This man not only understands how important music is but, how important it is to put the right artist with the right music. He cares incredibly about the programmes he produces and Im so proud tonight to give this award to one of the finest people who has ever worked in television and in music – Simon Cowell”.
