Andrew Lloyd Webber to greet the Royal Party at this year’s Royal Variety Performance

This evening Andrew Lloyd Webber and his wife Madeleine will be on the red carpet to greet Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall as they arrive at the iconic London venue which celebrates its centenary year later this month.

Among the many talented performers appearing on the world-famous London Palladium stage at this evening’s  Royal Variety Performance will be Danielle Hope, who earlier this year won the role of Dorothy in Andrew’s upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz, which opens at the London Palladium in March 2011 (previews from 7th February 2011).

Andrew recently announced his plans for the rebuilding and refurbishment of the front of house areas of The London Palladium ahead of the opening of The Wizard of Oz next year.

Yesterday Andrew popped into the Palladium to give Danielle, Toto and a choir of 58 children some guidance at their first rehearsal…. as our exclusive footage shows!

The Royal Variety Performance will be broadcast on BBC1 on Thursday 16th December at 8pm.
